    From this point on we will follow the 6 step advice process which will be explained to you.
    Once the finance or insurance process has concluded we will set a review period as agreed with you.

    Hawkes Bay Mortgage & Insurance Ltd was established by Paul Michaelsen in 2017 and trades under the SHARE brand.


    SHARE is a nationwide cooperative of insurance, investment and mortgage advisers, each of whom offers a personalised service for individuals, families and businesses. SHARE assists their network of advisers by providing them with robust systems and processes. Using these tools, and their knowledge, means that SHARE advisers exercise care, diligence and skill in providing financial advice to you.


    Paul has been in the finance industry since 1992 and has held senior Business Banking Manager and Retail roles within banks. This has enabled him to gain a wealth of knowledge in regard to lending and insurance products and gaining an astute business acumen and a sound commercial awareness. Pauls key attributes include putting clients first and doing the right thing by them, having high integrity and being trusted.

    Paul volunteers in the community, currently a member and Treasurer of the Rotary Club of Hastings Karamu, and Chairman & National Councillor for the Hawke's Bay & Gisborne Region District Council of the Automobile Association.

    Purchasing any home can be daunting whether it is your first home or not. We can look to source the best loan for your requirements, this may be with your current bank or not as history is no longer a big factor as it was many years ago. We will form a long term relationship with you. This will save you having to explain your financial background to another person and reduce the impact of staff changes at lenders.

    Life Insurance

    Provides a lump sum payment if you die or are diagnosed with a terminal illness and likely to pass away within 12 months.

    The funds from an insurance claim can be used to repay debt or replace income when you are not around.


    Trauma Insurance
    Trauma Cover insurance can pay a lump sum if you are diagnosed with certain medical conditions, for example some forms of cancer or if you have a stroke or a heart attack or other major illnesses.

    Total & Permanent Disability
    Total & Permanent Disability Cover insurance can provide a lump sum payment should you completely lose your ability to ever work again (or carry on your normal daily living tasks if you are not employed).


    Mortgage Repayment Cover

    Mortgage Repayment Cover provides a financial safety net should you be disabled as a result of sickness or injury, and unable to meet your mortgage repayments. The benefit is designed to cover mortgage repayments on your behalf during treatment and recovery. Some Mortgage Repayment Cover benefits are not offset from other forms of income.


    Income Cover

    Income Cover provides a financial safety net should you be disabled as a result of sickness or injury, and unable to earn your regular income. The monthly benefit is designed to replace a significant portion of lost income to help maintain your usual lifestyle during treatment and recovery. Some Income Cover benefits are offset by other forms of income.


    Medical Cover
    Private Medical Cover provides funding to enable you to have private medical treatment whenever you require more immediate access or a broader range of treatment options that are not available to you through the public health system.


    Waiver of Premium

    Waiver of Premium Cover provides a financial safety net should you be disabled as a result of sickness or injury, and unable to earn your regular income. The monthly benefit is designed to relieve you of the financial responsibility of paying your policy premium during treatment and recovery.
